cardigans and sweaters

cardigans and sweaters

As s, dolman-sleeved styles or sexy, form-fitting V-neck sweaters.warm summer days become a distant memory, it’s time to stock up on sweaters. With so many styles, cuts, colors and fabrics to choose from, sweaters are perfect for both work and play during the chilly seasons.
Add Dimension to Your Wardrobe
Cardigan sweaters are an essential layering piece for both work and weekend activities alike. For work, cardigans can be perfectly paired with sleek dress pants or a skirt. For many women, their go-to work cardigan is a traditional button down style in a solid color. Blacks, whites, and grays pair perfectly with everything, but a cardigan in a brighter hue or even an argyle print can also go great with just about anything, and it is an excellent way to bring a splash of color into your everyday work wear. Also look for knit-shrugs and charmeuse cardigans with ruffled trim or belts for added interest.
The addition of a few cardigans in your wardrobe is an easy way to add interest to any outfit and give you more options when it comes to mixing and matching. The classic womens cardigan sweater is a staple item in most work wardrobes not only for fashion, but for function as well. It is the ultimate layering piece for unpredictable office temperatures. Simply throw the sweater on when the thermostat dips too low, and take it off if the temperatures begin to creep up.
Dress Up or Dress Down
One of the many great things about sweaters is that they are so easily dressed up or down. Wear a sweater with your best trousers or skirt for work, and transition into weekend mode by pairing it with your favorite pair of jeans. When it comes to weekend wear, some of the best sweaters are draped, flyaway styles that are frequently seen on today’s hottest and most stylish celebrities. Layer ruffled fly away sweaters over a basic tee, or get the most out of your summer tank tops – even in cold weather – by wearing under a cardi.
For those extra cold weekend days, you may want to trade in your cardigan for a cozy, cable knit turtleneck sweater. If you are looking for a little more glam in a pullover style, try cowl neck
As you prepare your closet for the cold months ahead, be sure to stock up on sweaters of all kinds. From basic cardigans to sexy pullovers, from work to play - there is a sweater for every occasion.

My name is Samuel E. Barsky. I live in Baltimore, the city where I was raised most of my childhood. I am married with no children at the moment. I studied nursing in college, but in 1999, I dropped out after two semesters of the nursing program, which ultimately led to a new door being opened in my life.
I started knitting that same year, though I had wanted to from a long time beforehand. Throughout the 1990s, I tried teaching myself how to knit from books without any success. I tried signing up for adult education courses in various places, but they were all canceled due to low enrollment, which often was just one person - me.
I finally got my chance to learn how to knit while at the flea market one Sunday, I met a group of women who owned a yarn shop and were selling their yarn. I asked how I could learn how to knit, and the said they would teach me under the condition I would buy yarn from them. They taught me basic knitting.
I later found another yarn shop in the Baltimore area, and the owner taught me how to turn my knitting into a sweater. I learned from her how to make a solid-colored sweater. To make a long story short, I have fulfilled my debt to both shops. But I will move on and tell you everything else.

James Thomas Brudenell Cardigan, 7th earl of 1797–1868, British general. In the Crimean War he led the disastrous cavalry charge at Balaklava (1854) that Tennyson immortalized in The Charge of the Light Brigade. The charge was made on a misunderstood order, and the brigade was destroyed. Quarrels with his officers showed him a vain and contentious man. The cardigan sweater was named for him. This long grandpa-style cardigan has a great fit - it's big and cozy yet tailored so that it doesn't add bulk.  It's 100% wool.  This will be your favorite winter sweater!  Available in brown and black.   of In 1974, as the United States was reeling from the oil embargo imposed by the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries, Congress took the firstmany legislative steps to promote ethanol made from corn as an alternative fuel. On April 18, 1977, amid mounting calls for energy independence, President Jimmy Carter donned his cardigan sweater and appeared on television to tell Americans that balancing energy demands with available domestic resources would be an effort the "moral equivalent of war." The gradual phaseout of lead in the 1970s and 1980s provided an additional boost to the fledgling ethanol industry. (Lead, a toxic substance, is a performance enhancer when added to gasoline, and it was partly replaced by ethanol.) A series of tax breaksand subsidies also helped. In spite of these measures, with each passing year the United States became more dependent on imported petroleum, and ethanol remained marginal at best.

I knit while watching TV–it’s the only thing that keeps me from falling asleep at the stroke of eight o’clock. I recently took on my most challenging project yet, a cable-knit sweater cardigan for Stella. This was my first time cable knitting and my first time working with buttons. The cables were easy, but the buttons look like a fourth grader sewed them on, because they are not evenly spaced. Oh well.
I expected it to take me about eight months to complete, so I made the 18-24 month size. Only two months later, I’m done! It’s too big for her right now, so I don’t have any pictures of her modeling it, but here is the finished product:
Artisans knit and embroider this soft alpaca sweater with the baroque architecture of Puno, Peru, as inspiration. Puno’s nickname is the “folkloric capital of Peru” because of its many festivals, complete with indigenous costumes and lively dances. This cardigan fades from light to dark purple and has a hidden zip and round shawl collar.

In the post-grunge, pre-electronica world of apathetic audiences, flat sales, and No Big Thing, the pure pop of the Cardigans has hit like a virus that circumvents all rational defenses and goes straight for the central nervous system. The lighter-than-air melodies and samba-inflected dance beats, combined with the unflappable soprano of vocalist Nina Persson, deliver the punch of some weird amalgam of Blondie and Burt Bacharach.
In Boston, where the Swedish quintet recently played two sold-out shows at the 600-capacity Paradise with the local trio Papas Fritas, the Cardigans' rise has been so meteoric, that they short-circuited the usual radio market pattern, jumping from modern rock pioneers WFNX 101.7 to top-40 WXKS (Kiss 108) faster than you could say ABBA.
