Sweater To Cardigan

Sweater To Cardigan

As warm summer days become a distant memory, it’s time to stock up on sweaters. With so many styles, cuts, colors and fabrics to choose from, sweaters are perfect for both work and play during the chilly seasons.
Add Dimension to Your Wardrobe
Cardigan sweaters are an essential layering piece for both work and weekend activities alike. For work, cardigans can be perfectly paired with sleek dress pants or a skirt. For many women, their go-to work cardigan is a traditional button down style in a solid color. Blacks, whites, and grays pair perfectly with everything, but a cardigan in a brighter hue or even an argyle print can also go great with just about anything, and it is an excellent way to bring a splash of color into your everyday work wear. Also look for knit-shrugs and charmeuse cardigans with ruffled trim or belts for added interest.

The first lady helped build a playground at the Imagine Southeast Public Charter School in Washington, D.C., wearing khaki pants, a yellow cardigan, and metallic flats. She then hosted the Congressional Picnic on the South Lawn of the White House in a crisp striped dress from Talbots, which she accessorized with red flats and simple stud earrings

Sweaters And Cardigans

Sweaters And Cardigans

A cardigan is a type of knit shirt than has an open front. Often, cardigans can be tied, buttoned, orzipped. By contrast, a pullover does not open in front but must be "pulled over" the head to be worn. It may be machine- or hand-knitted. The cardigan was named after James Brudenell, 7th Earl of Cardigan, a British Army Major General who led the Charge of the Light Brigade at the Battle of Balaclava during the Crimean War. It is modelled after the knitted wool waistcoat that British officers supposedly wore during the war. The legend of the event and the fame that Brudenell achieved after the war led to the rise of the garment's popularity. [1] [2] The term originally referred only to a knitted sleeveless vest, but expanded to other types of garment over time. Cardigans were adopted by male fishermen to keep warm[citation needed], but spread to academic circles, and are now popular with women as well. Plain cardigans are often worn over shirts and inside suit jackets as a less formal version of the waistcoat or vest that restrains the necktie when the jacket has been removed. Its versatility means it can be worn in casual or formal settings and in any season, but it is most popular during cool weather.
